PPFC Players Keep Skills Sharp with Futsal 

This past winter, 100 PPFC players took to the futsal court to hone their ball skills in a fast-paced, creative environment.  

PPFC’s technical director Ramo Badohoun stated, “Our philosophy is to promote individual player growth that ultimately leads to team-wide success. Futsal helps players develop greater precision on the ball and fine-tune their vision of the game.”

Meeting twice each week for four weeks, futsal participants met one night to work on technical skills and learn new moves, and enjoyed games on the second night. 

Parent Tyler Lawrence said, “Our four kids had a great time with futsal this winter. It really helped sharpen their footwork, decision-making, and speed of play – and they had a blast competing!”

To further heighten the excitement, players were grouped into three co-ed divisions of 6 to 9 teams competing in a 5 to 6 game season. Each team  has a name of a club that will be competing in the FIFA club World cup that will take place in the USA, proudly wearing jerseys in their chosen colors. On the final night, each division crowned a champion with PPFC Futsal medals. This year’s futsal winners were Juventus, Flamengo, and Inter Miami.

Parent Amy Smith said of her son Alex’s experience: “He loved playing futsal and we loved watching. The games were exciting! All the players got tons of touches on the ball and opportunities to practice footwork and passing. Everyone had a great attitude and worked hard. We’ll be back!”
